Birla Corporation Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiary, RCCPL Pvt Ltd, own four coal blocks/mines, in Madhya Pradesh.
Sial Ghoghri Coal Mine is in operation while the others are in various stages of development.
It was operationalized in July 2016, as an underground coal mine, with a lease area of 429.107 hectares and extractable reserve of 5.66 million tons of average grade-G-7. Its Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) is 0.3 million tons. Reducing the carbon footprint is our priority. Extensive plantation, gainful use of groundwater and solar lighting are being widely practised in Sial Ghoghri.
With a leasehold area of 239 hectares, it was awarded in February 2020 through auction process and is expected to be operationalized in FY 2023-24. Its PRC is 0.36 million tons per annum and extractable reserve of G8 grade coal is 9.44 million ton,
With a leasehold area of 360 hectares, this was awarded in February 2020 through auction process. Its PRC is 0.36 million tons per annum and extractable reserve of G6 grade coal is 12.4 million tons.
With a leasehold area of 700 hectares, it was awarded in January 2023, through auction process. It has an extractable reserve of G8 grade of coal is 30.78 million tons. PRC of this mine is 1.0 million ton.
