CHANDERIA, 9 March - M P Birla Cement introduced two new-age cement brands, CONCRECEM (OPC 43 & 53 grades) and MULTICEM (fly ash-based PPC) at a befitting ceremony here today. These products are particularly suitable for large commercial, industrial, infrastructural and real estate projects.

Shri Sandip Ranjan Ghose (Executive President), Shri V K Hamirwasia (Head, Birla Cement Works and Chanderia Cement Works) and Shri Sunil Sharma (Sales Head) flagged off the first truck, with CONCRECEM and MULTICEM bags, to the Sanwaliaji temple as humble offering from Birla Cement Works, in celebration of its golden jubilee.

The M.P. Birla Group celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Birla Cement Works, the second member of its 10-member Cement Division, at Chanderia on Monday, 27 March 2017, in the presence of Shri H V Lodha, Chairman, and members of the Board of Directors of Birla Corporation Limited. Long-service awards were presented to 40 employees. Shri Lodha said Birla Cement Works was the first dry process plant in India, using the latest technology. The M.P. Birla Group has two cement plants at Chanderia, Birla Cement Works (1967) & Chanderia Cement Works (1986). Now the total production capacity of the plants per year is 4 million tons and in the near future it would go up to 5.5 million tons.

The afternoon of 18 February 2015 will remain special in the annals of the M P Birla Group when Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, unveiled the foundation stone of the new South Point campus, to be named Priyamvada Birla Campus, at the identified site (close to EM Bypass) in the presence of at least two State Cabinet Ministers, an MP and the Mayor of Kolkata. A large number of guardians, students and teachers witnessed the historical moment. She was all praise for South Point's track record and hoped that the institution would grow from strength to strength in its new home. The Chief Minister hoped that the South Point management would take the initiative to set up the South Point University in future.
